Digital illustration showing a burning forest.
I created this artpiece a while ago back in 2022 after learning about the illegal deforestation by burning in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. In recent years, there has been an increase in illegal deforestation by burning in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. This is mainly done to create grazing land and for the cultivation of soybeans.
These illegal deforestation practices have serious environmental consequences, as the fires not only destroy valuable habitats for animals and plants, but also contribute significantly to global warming. The Brazilian government has taken measures to combat illegal deforestation, but it remains a challenge to effectively address these practices.
There are also organizations and activists working to protect the Amazon rainforest and other sensitive ecosystems, and to raise awareness of the impact of illegal deforestation by burning. Illegal deforestation by burning is unfortunately not limited to just one region or country. It occurs in many parts of the world, particularly in areas where forests are being cleared for agriculture, grazing, or timber.
Some of the other region illegal deforestation by burning is occurring include: Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bolivia and Papua New Guinea. These are just a few examples of the many regions where illegal deforestation by burning is occurring. It is a major global problem that requires coordinated efforts from governments, organizations, and individuals to address.
